Meet Selena Banks-Lasister, our dedicated Director of Homeless Outreach. Born and raised in Jurupa Valley, formerly known as Glen Avon, Selena's roots run deep in the community. A proud graduate of Patriot High, Selena's journey started at a local Starbucks on Clay and Limonite, where she embraced the essence of her hometown through skateboarding.
During her rides around Jurupa, Selena encountered diverse individuals facing homelessness. These encounters hit close to home, as she witnessed friends and family members grappling with the challenges of life on the streets. Driven by personal experiences, Selena developed a profound empathy for those in need within her community.
With a heart committed to service, Selena is passionate about giving back to Jurupa. She firmly believes in the responsibility to extend assistance, care, and love to the youth and others who may lack the same opportunities. Selena acknowledges the complexity of homelessness but remains resolute in her mission to make a positive impact.
While Selena understands she can't single-handedly resolve all the issues, her focus is on providing hope and support to those she encounters. For Selena, if she can bring a glimmer of hope to even one of the ten people she engages with, it's a mission accomplished. Join Selena on her journey to make a difference in Jurupa Valley's homeless community and be a part of a team dedicated to outreach and positive change.
